Christmas Stocking Old Red & White Card FrontCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Occasion
Christmas / Christmas Various

I am totally impressed with how this design grew into such a beautiful Christmas card. While the shades seem mute when you first see the design, it really is well worth the purchase as the result is stunning.

I printed the sheet twice and used the first copy as the main topper. This I attached onto a light red, burgundy shade, backing sheet,12.5 x 9 cm, with double sided tape. I then prepared the main card in a deep green to match the tassels and holly leaves, 20 x 13.25 cm. After folding and firmly creasing it with a bone folder, I added a peel off silver strip around all sides, I cm in, from the edge.

Working with the second copy, I carefully cut away the wider taupe frame, leaving intact the poinsettias, and the sentiment. This I attached to the first topper, I had previously attached to the red burgundy backing sheet, using padded double sided tape.

I then attached the 1" wide burgundy satin ribbon to the front left hand side, leaving the backing sheet exposed on the left hand side, and secured this at the back of the backing sheet. I tied a simple bow, with the same ribbon and attached it, 5 cm up, from the lower edge of the backing sheet with red power tape. I used padded tape to then attach this topper to the green card front. I cut out all the elements and used padded tiny squares and dots to attach them, making sure that the stocking , being the main feature of the design sat on top of the bow and the ribbon.

The elements left over, I used on the insert, including, the left over, taupe frame, and added "with love" in the sentiment, a peel off silver Merry Christmas, and silver peel off strips.

It all came together to make a stunning card. Thank you for this design to Monique.
