Holly Berry Toppers 3Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionIf you want to make some quick and easy as well as very cute, Christmas greeting cards, this Holly Berry’s Toppers 3, is definitely a design to choose. I have managed, by printing the sheet supplied twice. to make 2 main cards, including the inserts for both and 4 different gift cards, by using all the elements provided, and I still have 2 sentiments and some poinsettias to use for some smaller gift tags. The backing main card for the snowman card is a grey blue cut at 24 x 13.5cm and I have then defined the edges with a red pen. The next backing sheet, which is a soft shade of red and cut at 11.5 x 11.0cm, has the main matte copy of the main image attached using D.S. tape, and the glitter silver peel off strip attached along all 4 sides. I then wrapped the soft red shaded ribbon across the font lower third and secured it at the back of the red backing sheet before using D.S. tape to attach these to the card front. I then used the gloss image to carefully cut away to remove the fern and poinsettia outer frame reserving it to use as part of the insert, and defined the edges of the main image using a red pen before attaching it to the card front using padded D.S. tape. I cut out the individual snowman image and attached this, using padded tiny pieces of D.S. tape. I added some embellishments before attaching the matching bow and some silver glitter glue to the fuzzy pompom, cuffs and hat band. I used the extra tiny poinsettias to attach using thick white glue, and the sentiment using padded tape. The insert is cut a fraction smaller than the main card, and I have defined all the edges with red before attaching the frame to the right hand side and the small snowman image onto the left hand side, using the long fern, berry and poinsettia garland along the top middle of the insert.
For the smaller, 25 x 12.25cm white card, I have used the same method of reserving the outer frame and, used the gloss copy of the main image of the tree, and some silver glitter and plain silver peel off strips. The bright red gloss 11.25cm square backing sheet, matches the bright red ribbon and bow, and I have used glitter glue around the berry and fern frame, on the decoupage Christmas tree and also as a glow effect around the tree. The insert is shown in the last photograph. Thank you Karen, I have made every little piece of this sheet into a Christmas greeting of some sort. The 2 tiny sentiments let over are now small punched tags with a thin ribbon tie. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
