There are not many reindeers to view, made into greeting cards, as cute and hairy, as Clare has captured in this wonderful pen and water colour version of a red nosed reindeer.

I just had to purchase it, and make it to add to my collection for this coming Christmas posting.

I used Clare's designed backing sheet " Poinsettia's background sheet" cup806164_7993, printed onto good quality card, to make the main card. I cut it at 19cm long and 14cm wide, and edged it with peel off strips, that I had coloured green with a permanent pen. I then added the 2.5cm wide green organza ribbon to the front of the card, 1.5cm up from the lower edge. I did not attach it firmly to the front of the card, as I needed the left hand side, loose enough to thread a ribbon through, so, I attached it firmly at the back, and onto the actual inside of the card.

I used the sheet provided to make 2 copies, one onto 200gsm white card, and one onto good quality photocopy paper. I then made 3 backing sheets for the card front. The first and largest, is a fawn, and measures,12.25cm, x9cm. The second is a bright apple green, and measures, 11.75 x 8.5cm. The smallest of these, is a bright cherry red, and measures,11.5 x 8.25cm. I used D.S Tape to matte these together. I then used, 3D tape, to attach these backing sheets to the card front. These backing sheets do not sit in the centre of the card front, but, 1cm in, from the right hand edge of the card, leaving, almost, 1.5cm on the left hand side exposed.

I then, used the 200gsm copy of the sheet, to cut out all the elements, and make up the decoupage front, using tiny padded squares. For the tiny nose piece, I used wet clear glue to attach this, and allowed it to dry, before adding glitter glue, to the nose only. Once this was dry, I used D.S. tape to attach this completed topper to the backing sheets.

I have added a tag in bright cherry red with the sentiment. I was attempting to have the tag appear, as if it was part of the red harness.

For the insert, I used the same "Poinsettia background sheet", to print onto photo copy paper, and cut it at, 18.5 x 13,5 cm.

To this I attached the photocopy paper version of the topper, to the top half of the insert, and a blank white sheet to the lower half. I edged this blank sheet, with a red peel off strip, and added some of the elements, including a sentiment.

The second card I made, is exactly the same, except I left more room for my personal greeting, by omitting the extra elements on the blank sheet of the insert.

Thank You Clare, I am thrilled with the result and know the recipients will believe I am so clever, and thoughtful.
