Scalloped Corners Topper With 2 Little Butterflies 2Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I have used a prepared 15 x 10.5cm satin finished silver card to display this beautiful topper. I printed the sheet supplied twice onto the one sheet of good quality A4 white light weight card.

I prepared the backing sheets for the front and the insert by printing a random pink spotty paper onto white copy paper and cutting the insert section at 21 x 15cm and the front backing sheet at 10.25 x 14.5cm.

I defined the edges of the front backing sheet using a bronze metallic pen and then attached both of these backing sheets using D.S. tape.

I set this side while I prepared the backing sheets for the card front and completed the front topper.

I used one of the main images to define the edges with a gold fine line pen and attached this to the matching burnt orange red backing sheet, cut at 12.25 x 8.75cm and then cut away the curved corners to match.

I made the next backing sheet from pale pink 12.75x 9.5cm card and defined the edges with the bronze pen before attaching it to the back of the burnt orange red backing sheet.

I used narrow gold satin ribbon to attach across the middle of the main image and secured the tails at the back of the pink backing sheet.

I used D.S. padded tape to attach this section of the topper to the card front.

I then used the second copy of the main image and carefully cut away and reserve as much of the outer section of the image, to use as part of the insert, while still keeping the ornamental gold scroll, and butterfly wings intact.

I used small padded squares and lengths of padded D.S. tape to mount this section to the card front. I completed the decoupage adding the smaller butterflies, the jewels and the gold ornamental sentiment using padded D.S. carefully sized tape and squares.

I used red power tape to attach the matching bow I have made. I have used the retained frame to define the outside edges with the bronze pen and attached it to the inside of the card on the left hand inside using D.S. tape.

I have then used the extra smaller elements to attach using D.S. tape.

It was a very clever touch by the designer, Anna Babjanyan, to make the extra elements of the butterflies slightly smaller as this has given extra depth to the finished decoupage effect.

This is such a versatile and useful topper to use for so many celebrations, I will be able to use it many times.
