For my Friend Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I liked this design so much I have made use of the topper as an insert verse for another card I have made this week.

I printed the sheet supplied twice using good quality white light card. The main card is a 15cm square satin silver pearl finished prepared card.

I completed the topper using a 14cm square rose pink backing sheet, which I have edged with a soft burgundy permanent pen, then the same rose pink card cut at 13cm square and edged it with the same pen.

The next backing sheet is cream cut at 12.25cm.

I used D.S. tape to attach the backing sheets together and using the main image, cut from one of the copies, which measures 11.7cm square attached this to the backing sheets and wrapped the ecru cotton lace trim across the front at 4cm up from the lower edge of the largest backing sheet.

I have then attached this completed part of the topper to the card front. I used the second copy of the sheet provided to cut away the rose frame and retain it for part of the insert, then carefully cut out the central image to attach using padded D.S. tape.

I have used the extra small elements from one sheet to use as decoupage on the front of the card.

To complete the insert, I have used the rose pink backing sheet, cut at 15cm square, to attach to the left hand side of the inside of the card and attached the retained rose frame, with the jewels intact, onto the inside of the card.

I have used light weight white card to cut at 25cmx 14cm and scored and folded it, 14 cm in, from the right hand side.

I have used a verse from the free verse section to print and attach to the inside of this insert and used pink peel off strips and the butterfly and bow from the sheet provided.

I have used D.S. tape to attach this insert before completing the front page of the insert. I have used 2 of the jewels and a peel off sentiment, some glitter spots and some pink peel off strips to complete the embellishments.

For the next card I have made, which is a 14cm square card front, I have used one of the prints in a smaller, 10.5cm square sized finish for the main image to attach to the white with pink spots backing paper printed onto both sides, cut at 29.5cm x13cm.

I have edged this insert on all 4 sides, scored it at 4cm and 18cm in from the right hand edge and Valley folded it, then used D.S.

Tape to attach the 13.5cm wide back to the inside back cover of the card.

I have then attached the beautiful main image centrally and attached the 2 jewels to appear as the lock and hand written “open” on the top jewel.

Both these cards have presented as making a point of difference, which was my intention. Beautiful images such as this deserve the extra effort. I hope you like what I have done and will make a card in a similar way. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
