Pblue Pansy Valentines Day 8in Vintage Decoupage TopperCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This is absolutely gorgeous and the colours right through to the gold filligree on the sentiment are so defined.

I printed the topper and the pansies out in C.B's Matte Photo paper. ( at a reduced size The topper is now 5" Sq. or in metric 12.5cm).

I attached the lace( mitred the corners) using a glue runner on the back of the topper.. I then attached with D.S Tape a blue patterned backing sheet from my stash. I cut it so that only part of the lace has the blue showing through to give a more romantic look 13.5 x 13.5cm. I then D.S taped this to the card 14cm Square, so that the lace is still sheer around the border of the card.

I added the decoupage pansies which I had edged with a pale blue spectrum Noir pen, and the pearls. I highlighted the white part of the blue pearl necklace with Glossy accents, and used a White gel pen to highlight the stitching line.

I made some paper beads in 2 shades of patterned blue, threaded them alternatively with seed pearls and stitched these to a floret of the same lace. It was left over from the edging (and the last of that lace in my stash unfortunately).

I just love the look of this romantic finish, it is so feminine. The design is so easy to make, very little effort, just cut it out and attach to a card for a very quick card or add the pansies decoupage if time allows, or like me, just enjoy going the extra mile
