Lovely Florals 7 X 7 Card Topper + Gift TagCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Deloris has designed this colourful Camelia display using 2 beautiful sprays of Camelia blooms and leaves over a white linen and lace doily to offer for purchase. The shades of pink and green are so starkly brilliant against the white doily, it was easy to see how quickly and easily this design would evolve into a stunning greeting card. I printed the sheet provided onto 200gsm CB gloss white photo paper. I made 2 copies as I wanted to use the main image from the first copy as the main backing sheet for the card front. I cut out the main element leaving a 2mm white edge on all 4 sides. I used a matching rose pink permanent pen to colour this white edge. I used an organza and satin, silver edged 2.5cm wide ribbon to attach to the back of this main image, lining it up with the ribbon on the image, and then attached the 9cm round paper doily to the top left hand corner, with a few drops of white glue. I then used a green alcohol based pen to smudge onto my index finger, and to then rub it lightly over the exposed parts of the doily. I attached the 12 cm square green backing sheet with padded tape, and made the next backing sheet, which measures 13cm square by using a green card a shade lighter than the previous backing sheet and randomly drawing some tiny camellias using permanent pens in light and dark pink and finishing the centres with a white liquid pen. I then coloured the edges with the same rose pink pen, as I had used on the main image edges. I attached this backing sheet using padded tape. The main card is a textured ivory card with an all over scroll design. I cut this at 30 x 15cm and scored and folded it. I wrapped the left hand white ribbon tail under the left hand side of the card securing it with D.S. tape. I attached the topper to the ivory card front and used a green marker pen and ruler to rule the green lines just inside the edges of the ivory card front. I then wrapped the right hand white ribbon tail round to the inside of the card front, securing it with a little D.S. tape.

I then made the insert before I completed the decoupage for the card front. I used a pale tiny floral design on a pale green background copied onto regular copy paper, and cut it at 29.5x14.5cm. I used the same ribbon to attach to the left hand side, and used a God Bless You in a gold peel off to attach vertically to the ribbon. I attached one of the miniature images and a sentiment and a few matching jewels. The right hand side I hand wrote my special message.

For the decoupage, I used the second gloss copy to cut around the complete lace area, and kept attached any of the overhanging leaves. I used padded D.S. Squares to attach this in place onto the card front. I made a one-step bow and used power tape to attach it to the left hand corner. I used the With Love sentiment and 2 rose pink gems to decorate the centre of the linen doily I coloured some yellow gems with a green alcohol pen and added those to the pale pink gems I have used on the corners, and on the ribbon. This card has already been posted to my Aunt and Uncle however I still have the delightful gift card to add to my collection of gift cards. I am bundling them into groups of 5 to have ready to pop into a surprise parcel for friends, cousins, and daughters for their own collection.
