Red, White & Blue Tiles - Set 4Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionI cut out all the tiles and made up both sets in the simple kite stye. I used the simpler flower centred tea bag finish and the flower finished lookr side to use for this card.. I then reprinted this set, from which i cut out the flowers.
The card is a white matt front finish11.5cmx15cm edced in dark blue alcohol pen.The topper has 3 backing sheets
1. deep red textured paper11x14.5cm 2.deep blue textured paper10.5 x14cm
3.red craft paper to match the tiles 10 x13.5cm. these are matted onto the card with D.S Tape. The deep red is then drawn around with a royal blue pen using a ruler as a guide .The Sky Blue Craft paper is 9.7x 13.2cm.
To make the elements for this 1.I used a hand drawn
curved 3cm x13 cm strip divided equally and used royal blue and bright red alcohol pens to colour the stripes To this I added the red, gold trimmed 1cm ribbon attached at the back.(Tie the bow later)
I used D.S Tape and attached this to the red topper sheet. I used a shiny royal blue split pin in the centre of the mandala and used white glue to attach it and the flowers randomly, and the deep red strips for the stems. I used a cloud shape for the sentiments. The happy birthday sentiment I folded in half and inked one inside half with royal blue and edged the inside edge of the lower fold in red and attached using D.S Tape then lightly curled the scallops up. I slipped a short piece of the same ribbon under the ribbon strip and tied a simple bow. I slid it along to where it now sits and attached with a glue dot.
A Very patriotic, but fun look.
It lends itself to every shade of the red white and blues.
