If like me, you really enjoy spending time and effort into your card making, maybe this stitching pattern, a design by Emy van Schaik, of a decorative stitched and beaded Christmas wreath will suit your own creative spirit.

The main card is white 120 gsm 26 x13cm card, which I have embellished the square front with Gold Dust Effects, using a fine brush and then used gold peel off strips on all 4 edges.

I then defined the edges with a moss green metallic permanent pen. I copied the design from the sheet supplied onto 120gsm white card and used polyester single thread stitching to complete the design.

I have used dark green, light moss green, brilliant red and a cornflower yellow to complete the stitching part of the project, before I began to attach the beads.

I have used 25 tiny round red metallic beads, 12 clear orange sequins, 21 seed beads in a mixture of sizes and shades of blue and green to complete the stitching.

In total I used a combination of 58 beads and clear sequins.

I cut out a 10.5cm diameter circle template, and used it as a guide by tracing this shape on the back of the wreath shape and then cutting a scallop shaped edging inside this 10.5cm circle and used the moss green metallic pen to define the edges of the scallop.

I then used the original circle shape to colour with the moss green metallic pen. I used red power tape to attach this to the back of the wreath.

I used red power tape to then attach this to the centre of the card front and added the peel off sentiment which I had mounted onto the coloured moss green piece of card.

I added some stars and some holly and a bell, all of which are gold peel offs.

To complete the insert and the 13.5cm (5 ½”) square envelope, I have used, cup797371_79993, Mistletoe and Berries background sheet, a design by Clare Walker, and on the right hand side of the insert I have used a verse from the free verse section for Christmas verses.

I am so pleased with this project and plan to make another using a paper doily as the backing sheet behind the wreath.
