Emy van Schaik has called the design ED216, Christmas Star Mandala and I have used gold metallic thread, deep burgundy metallic thread and a variegated metallic thread featuring the shades of gold, blue and purple.

I have used a combination of 86 beads to complete the beading embellishment.

I made a white card using Crafty Bob 200gsm matte photo paper, and scored and folded it at 15cm square.

I worked the stitching part of the design from the centre and worked out wards completing the central round mandala star in the gold thread, and the next round mandala star in the variegated thread.

The next 2pointed 12star shaped mandalas, I have completed using the burgundy thread.

The very larger outside framed fan finished 12pointed mandala star and the tiny circle mandala stars I completed using gold metallic thread.

I am unable to purchase spacers at the moment and have used sequins in the sections indicated for the spacers.

I have used a gold glitter sequin with a gold metallic seed bead, in the very centre of the design attaching them using double gold metallic thread and continued working from the inside smaller stitching part of the design to the larger stitching attaching the beads.

I next attached the 12 pale green sequins and to each of these I attached a gold metallic seed bead.

The 24 luminescent purple, green, blue 5mm rice beads, I attached using the burgundy metallic thread doubled and added the24 tiny red glass seed beads to both ends of the first inner row of these beads.

I followed the directions on the sheet to complete the stitching and beading which made the project very easy to complete.

I have added 12 tiny opaque red seed beads to the tiny mandala stars on the very outside of the design, attached gold peel off multi sized stars and attached a gold backed sentiment using padded D.S. tape to the top front right corner as extra embellishments.

I defined the edges of the completed 13cm square topper and attached a backing sheet to secure the stitching and beading using red power tape.

I attached the red ribbon 3.5cm down from the top edge before attaching the work on to the red 13.5cm square backing sheet and the 14.5cm gold foil backing sheet using red power tape.

I then attached this completed topper to the white card front securing the ribbon at the back and attaching the bow, using red power tape to the bottom edge of the card front.

I printed the verse I have chosen on to ivory 120gsm card and an image of the card front, a peel off sentiment and some peel off Christmas images to complete the insert.

Thank you for this beautiful design and making this sheet available for purchase. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
