ED167 MandalaCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

As the main card for this stitched and beaded design I have used a crafty Bob scalloped edged 20cm square (8”x8”) white card, which I have defined the edges with a gold metallic pen.

I copied the design supplied onto a white 120gsm card.

I have used single thread in green, yellow and red to complete the stitching, before attaching any beads. In total I have used 98 beads including the sequins. I began the beading from the centre using yellow thread to attach a single gold sequin and single green glass seed bead.

The next 8 red 7mm red metallic rice beads, I attached using green thread, the 8 gold sequins each with a green glass seed bead, I attached using yellow thread.

To attach the 8 red 7mm metallic rice beads onto the end of the petal shapes, I have used red thread.

The 16 gold sequins and 16 green glass seed beads, I have attached using yellow thread.

To attach the very outside 16 red 7mm metallic rice beads with the 16 green glass beads I have used red thread.

I then attached a white lighter weight 15cm square card to the back of the stitched and beaded card to secure the stitching before attaching this topper to red 17cm square Christmas rose backing sheet, using D.S. tape.

The next 2 backing sheets attached with D.S. tape are an 18cm square white, edged with a green pen and a 19cm square red, edged with a gold metallic pen.

I have used gold peel off strips on both white background sheets.

I used red power tape to attach this completed topper to the card front and then used a fine brush and gold glitter dust glue and added a fine dusting of this to the centre of the circle part of the design and to the outer edges of the scalloped edged main card.

I used a red gold glitter trimmed ribbon and gild string to attach the sentiment. I have used 2 copies of the Christmas rose backing sheet to attach to the inside as the insert and a verse from the Free Verse section, Christmas friends.
