ED208 FloralCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionI have used this absolutely beautiful delicate design as a thank you card for a younger dear friend, who organized a social distancing morning at a local park for a group of 8 of us old folks and the shades I have used which suit the design perfectly happen to be her favourite colours.
I have copied the design onto a 170gsm white smooth surfaced card and completed all the green polyester swirls stitching first.
I then stitched the soft pink circles and flower petals using polyester thread. I left the 2x green line stitching until last and began the beading next.
I have used 15 pale pink pearl finished seed beads, 2 green faceted sequins, instead of spacers, 4 faceted pale pink sequins, 17 tiny green glass seed beads and 10 green glass tube beads to complete the stitching on the main area of the card front.
Before stitching the lines on the right hand side of this card front, I have attached the 14 pink seed beads and 6 of the green tube beads inside the position between the 2x lines on the right and side of the card front.
I completed the lines on either side of the card front using the polyester green thread doubled.
I secured each section of the stitching, at the back, using magic tape and defined the 4 edges using a pen line water colour marker in dark green before attaching this completed topper onto cup986138_21027, delicate pastel spotty background sheet in pink, cut at 13.5cm square and I have also defined the edges with the green marker.
The main card is cut at 28 x 15cm and is printed on both sides with cup799405_79993, pink clematis background sheet, designed by Clare Walker.
I have added the paper pink bow by sliding it under the 2x lines on the left hand side.
The card edges are defined with the same green pen to help give extra dimension to the finished project.
I have added a thank you sentiment and attached a verse and my personal message by Angela Styles from the free verse section, onto the right hand side of the insert and attached a small image of the finished card front onto the left hand side with some peel off strips as embellishments.
