Ed114 Christmas Floral ZentangleCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
I love doodling and making my own zentangles, but have never been able to achieve and develop the depth that Emy has managed in this Christmas Floral Zentangle.
I the printed the sheet supplied and copied it onto a 13.5cm square white card.
I used a polyester green thread to sew all the outside lines and a metallic green thread to sew all the internal shape lines.
I used my water colour pencils in the dry form to colour and shade the design before I attached any of the beads.
To complete the design by attaching the beads I have used 8 tiny round pale green pearls for the top ends of the internal lines, 40 small round red metallic beads for the top of the curves, and 0.5mm red metallic rice beads for the ends of the fold over sections.
The pattern indicates 8 beads for the centre section, however I have used 12 very small round red metallic beads for this centre section and 4 silver 0.5mm rice beads to make the cross symbol.
In total, I have used 72 beads to complete the design.
The backing sheet is a matching green card and is attached using D.S tape. I used 2 gem topped split pens to attach and secure the ribbon. I made a card using cup796507_79993 Christmas Mistletoe and Berries, a design by Clare Walker, which I cut at 29 x 15cm and to this attached the topper using D.S. tape.
I made the small bow and attached it using red power tape. The additional embellishments are peel- off items that co- ordinates with the colours of the beads and stitching. The insert has been formed by using the same print on both sides of the main card.
I have used a verse from the free Christmas verse section and added a large silver glitter, merry Christmas. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
