Stitching Patterns Border 10Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionI am still finishing the partner to this design and will add it to the site tomorrow, but I have finished this delightfully pretty and very easy stitching design to upload today.
I have used a folded 24 x 12cm white card to copy the pattern onto the right hand side, 1.5cm in from the right hand edge and worked the design with the card open using light green metallic thread on all right hand sides of the leaves and dark green metallic thread for the left hand side of the leaves.
For the centre I have used a deep rose pink metallic thread. Most of the leaves are completed with 1-3 spacing and the centre of the design is 1-2 spacing.
I folded the card with a mountain fold and to secure the stitching attached this to the back of the completed work.
I have used a pink floral print 12.75cm square backing sheet to define the edges with the same pen and attached this to the 15 x 14.5cm card front.
I coloured the leaves and centre piece using my wet and dry pencils to give the effect of dimension.
I have completed the topper with a split pin jewel through the centre piece of the design and used the step by step, cup984005_21027,Pink Lily 1 as the main embellishment, a Happy Birthday peel off sentiment and fine line pink peel off strips to complete the topper before attaching this to the card front.
I have made an extra 28 x14.5 cm card for the insert, folded at the 12.5cm mark in from the left hand side, and attached it onto the inside back cover of the white card.
I have used a fancy pink stripe paper to attach on the left hand side of the open card for my personal message and used the largest image of the lily from Pink Lily 1 on the right hand side trimming it with lace and ribbon and carrying the ribbon over to the back of this page.
I have then used the single remaining image of the lily to attach on the inside of the insert left hand side and the verse I found in the free verse section onto the right hand side.
I completed the embellishments on the card front using decorative silver peel off strips. This was a very quick easy stitching design very suitable to be completed on many different styles of greeting cards with the ability of choice of coloured background and then using the design many times with different effects.
