ED177 WinterCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionI have decided to make this a Christmas card using the theme blue silver and red. I have copied the design onto a 13 x 16 cm white card and I have used a silver/blue textured metallic thread for all the stitching lines and to attach the beads.
I have used a single thread for all the line stitching, but used this same thread double for the tiny blue shapes and for attaching the beads.
I completed all the stitching before attaching any beads. I have used 12 red 5mm metallic rice beads, 10 silver 5mm metallic rice beads and 2 silver 7mm metallic rice beads.
For the smaller beads I have used 3 blue seed beads and 16 tiny blue glass seed beads.
I then coloured the very edges of some white peel off strips and attached them to hang some silver stars at each of the bottom of each strip.
I added the large sentiment and some stars and snowflakes, all of which are peel off embellishments.
I have defined the edge of this topper with a silver metallic pen and attached it to a textured blue core card using long strips of padded D.S. tape which measures 30 x 17cm and I have used the silver pen on all the edges of this blue card.
I then used some white peel offs as a border and added the silver bow. To complete the insert, I printed a verse from the Christmas free list for friends. I used 8 matching peel of corners and a reindeer peel off.
This is a beautifully simple elegant design which will suit many colours and any and all occasions for an amazing effect for a greeting card.
I know I will use this very easy design many times to give my cards that wow factor. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
