Ed040 Border
Stitching with beads
Photographs from the Community
I haven’t been able to upload any cards or design as my computer was in the shop having an upgrade, which has been very frustrating as I was not able to access so many of my programs to finish half started work.
I have very little time left to complete uploading work I have already completed so I have decided to add the second and third photographs later.
The border design by Emy van Schaik is a design I have made several times and never uploaded it before.
I have used it in conjunction with cup 22803_99, Shoe 3 Step-by-step, for a friend who loves shoe buying and which for her this joy has been stalled due to the current health crisis.
I have used her favourite shades of blue and pink to complete all the stitching. I have used white mat satin finished 170gsm card cut at 14cm square to copy the design onto. The outside scallop stitching and the blue zigzag stitching I have completed using blue metallic thread.
The pink 8xpoint designs I have completed using a metallic mauve pink metallic thread. I completed all the stitching before attaching the 48 tiny blue, pink centred, glass seed beads. To attach these beads, I have used the mauve pink metallic thread doubled. I secured the stitching at the back of the work using red power tape.
I then used very small sharp scissors to cut away the excess white card to leave a 2mm white scalloped edge.
I attached the 13cm square, pink backing sheet using red power tape and cut the curve at the corners to match the white frame.
I have used Crafty Bob A4 200gsm white matte photo paper to score and fold into a 15cm square card.
I have attached the topper using red power tape and used some pale pink peel off strips as extra embellishments.
I then attached the completed decoupage, step by step shoe, attaching it to the centre of the card.
The insert is pale pink with a verse I have chosen from the free verse section and I have used a small image of the completed card as extra embellishments and some peel of shoes which I have coloured with permanent pens before attaching them to the backing sheets.
I will attach these photographs later next week. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
