Happy Valentine's Day Decoupage Card FrontCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionHow romantic- All any one would want, for Valentine's day, champagne, roses & chocolates.I made a cream textured card 23.5 x16 cm and edged it with a red Spectrum Noir pen. I made 3 backing sheets. Red 14.5 x 10cm Gold 13.8 x 9.7 cm and a black 12.3x8.8 cm. I used CB's Matte photo paper to print and cut out all the elemments. I used D.S Tape to attach the main topper to the smaller Black backing Sheet and then to the Gold . I attached a 6mm black ribbon to the bottom of this before attaching it to the red backing sheet. I placed the D'S Tape to the back of the red backing, ready for attaching it to the card. I then used D.S Foam tape to decoupage the rose , the chocolates , the bow and the glasses. I made tiny organza bows and D.S Taped them to the glassses. I high lighted the filligree around the heart with a gold glitter pen. re coloured the butterfly. as it seemed a little lost with all the glamour.I made 2 hearts with scrap paper using all the colors and added an organza bow.
I used a gold pen and ruler to highlight the left and top of the frame, then attached the finished topper to the card, simply centre-ing it and peeling off the strips from underneath. This step by step avoids losing and or crushing the 3 D effect. I made larger hearts like the additional ones for the insert and wrote Happy Valentine's Day in both the left and the right side. What a delightful and pleasing effect comes together using all the elements. Thank you. I love the design .
