This Spring Time design by Terri Hawley is a favourite for any card make who likes to work with decoupage and step by step methods.

Here we have absolutely beautiful Tulip magnolias and a butterfly, surrounded by blossoms and streamers, which depict a happy event, and sunny warm days.

The dark teal coloured background I have echoed by using it twice in backing sheet and the main card and I have picked out the rich pink of the butterfly and the tulip magnolias for the other backing sheet.

I copied the sheet provided onto C B 120gsm white matte card and cut out the main image and mounted it onto a white background which measures 10cm square using D.S. tape.

I then cut the teal backing sheet at 11cm square, and the pink at 12cm square and attached each of these in turn using D.S. tape.

The main card is also made from a Teal coloured card and I have cut it at 28cm x 14cm and scored and folded it before attaching the completed topper.

I then added the peel off strips starting with gold around the frame of the main image.

I then coloured a peel off strip with a dark teal permanent pen and added it to the white backing sheet.

The teal backing sheet has a gold peel off strip attached to the outside edges and the pink backing sheet has a paler teal coloured peel off strip.

To complete the framing of each built up stage of the frames formed by the backing sheets, I have used a decorative gold peel off strip around the outside edge of the main teal card.

I love the glorious mix of the colours in the main image, and can see I will be able to use this card design many more times as it will suit almost all celebrations and occasions, including Mothers’ day, Easter, Spring, Birthday, Get Well, even Sympathy, and more.
