This is a classic step, by step, beautiful design by Astrid Spijkers, most carefully set out on the sheet to make the steps so easy, to complete. Thank you, I actually love the cutting and piece work that goes into completing these designs. I printed it from the main sheet supplied. twice for the card front and in a slightly smaller size to make the insert. I used good quality photo copy paper to cut out the main topper and mount it onto several backing sheets using double sided tape each time. I edged each of the green and the topper with a darker leaf green permanent pen, and the orange backing sheet with an orange pen before I matted them together. The topper is 8.25 x 10.75cm, the green backing sheet is 9 x 11.5cm,and, the next one is orange, and measures 9.5 x 12cm. Before I attached the next green, backing sheet, I measured up from the lower edge of the 2nd green backing sheet and attached the 3cm wide ribbon to the front with double sided tape, then matted the orange backing sheet to the 2nd green backing sheet. Before attaching the white backing sheet,10.5 x 13.5cm, I edged it with the orange pen. This I attached with padded tape to the back of the green backing sheet and wrapped the ribbon around securing it at the back. This topper, I then matted onto a cream card, 11 x 14 cm, which I also edged with the orange pen. This simple procedure actually made a beautiful quick card without any further work, so I intend to make a note of this as a quick card for a future time. I then began to make the step by step for the front of the card. I used 200gsm white card for these elements, and cut them out carefully. I used the smaller framed section to attach first. To achieve this, I had cut away the darker green frame. For each layer I used the tiny padded squares, that come on a sheet, with peel off backings.
The topper and card front were now completed, and I used the smaller sized print on copy paper, to attach, randomly, along the right hand edge of an ivory pearl finished paper, 21cm x 13.5 cm. I then cut away the edges from the elements, and attached the 3cm ribbon to the back with double sided tape.
This card I wanted to use as a bereavement card and so added the sentiment to the front, "with sympathy" and attached an orange ribbon to the left hand side.
The finished card without the sentiment and ribbon will be most suitable for many celebrations. Even graduation.
Thank You Astrid, I did enjoy making this card.

Hi Astrid, I really am delighted and appreciate the ability, when I have made a purchase for a design, to been able to re use the design for a particular occasion as in this Cala Lily 2. I have removed 2 photographs from my previous make of your design to add 2 more from today's remake of the card. I have not included a description, however I have added a verse from the free verse list for Sympathy and taken license to make the verse suit my particular need. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
