Dahlias in any colour are always a welcoming sight and suit almost every occasion, and on this greeting card, I have chosen to make a feminine birthday card.
I printed the sheet provided twice, as I wanted to be able to cut away the gold edged frame, from one of the main elements, and then be able to use this as the second layer of the topper.
I have backed the main image with a 12.5 x 9.5cm white backing sheet with gold metallic pen edging, and used 2 layers of cotton lace attached using red power tape to the back of a wide deep rose pink coloured satin ribbon and to then attach this ribbon and lace across the front of the 2 backing sheets, securing the ribbon and lace at the back.
I then attached them both to a 13.5 x 10.5 cm deep rose pink textured backing sheet, using D.S. tape.
I attached the smaller frameless main image to the topper using padded D.S. tape and then onto the 14.5 x 11.5 cm, ivory card front, which I had previously prepared with diagonal deep rose pink lines, and defined all 4 edges with the same pen using D.S. tape.
I completed the decoupage using small padded D.S. squares and added the matching bow and the sentiment.
To complete the insert I have used a backing sheet designed by Clare Walker, cup799405_79993, Pink Clematis background sheet and used the same lace and deep rose pink card for the strip on the left hand side and the extra butterfly and sentiment.
If you like decoupage and step by step method of card making this is a delightful image to use with beautiful results.

Printed on good quality glossy photo paper. All elements cut out. The main design was attached to a 6 x 8 card with double sided tape and the decoupage built up and attached using sticky pads.
