Spring Birthday

This delightful floral off set Spring floral topper and decoupage sheet offered for purchase by Julie McGregor has made the perfect birthday greeting card for my gardening enthusiast friend for her Spring Birthday this week.

I printed the sheet provided 3 times onto 170gsm white satin photo paper at,18.13x 14cm and used one main image as the backing sheet.

I cut this mage out keeping a tiny 2mm white margin on all 4 sides. I then prepared, using D.S. tape, the metallic finished dark green 14x10cm, the 15x11cm, pale green crushed paper effect, cup966501_21027 and the15.75x11.75cm dark green backing sheets.

I attached the pink peel off strips before attaching the deep rose-pink ribbon across the centre horizontally hiding the tails at the back and the main image as the topper to the front.

I prepared the 25x16cm ivory card by scoring and folding it before defining the card front edges using a pink permanent pen.

I attached the topper using D.S. tape.

Using the 2 copies remaining to cut out the 3 pink framed sections still retaining the edging flowers and butterflies and attached these elements using dimensional glue.

I added gold glitter glue dust and the matching ribbon bow as extra embellishments.

To complete the insert, I printed the verse I have chosen onto pastel green, A4 copy paper and cut this to fit, using glue runner tape attached this in place before adding the butterflies and the sentiment as embellishments.

I attached an extra copy paper mage of the topper onto the back of the card. The finished card took a little extra time to complete but well worth the effort.

It would be very simple and quick to make this design again, using the elements provided with the sheet in a step-by-step method.
