I have made the 14.5cm square white backing sheet for the topper and edged it with a blue metallic permanent pen before attaching the next backing sheet.
The 11.5 x 4.5cm red and 11.5 x7cm blue backing sheet pieces are joined to make an 11.5cm square backing sheet and then attached onto the white backing sheet.
The red ribbon is then attached across the join and secured at the back before attaching this, using D.S. tape, to the 13cm square card front.
I printed the sheet offered for purchase by Deloris twice onto the one A4 white card sheet and used the full image from one copy to then attach to the card front using D.S. tape.
I used the second copy to cut away the outer blue decorative frame, keeping intact the blue poinsettias on each of the top corners and attached this to the card front using padded D.S. tape.
I used the extra poinsettia sprays as decoupage, attached the sentiment and the matching red bow. To complete the insert, I have used cup814313_79993, Christmas lace effect to change the original hue to be pale blue and printed it in portrait position.
I then cut it at 26 x13cm to fit inside the card, and attached it using D.S. tape.
I used a section of the edge strips to form a frame around the verse, attached the spray of poinsettias to the top of the verse page to fit and used the gold sentiment and a spray of poinsettias to attach to the left hand side of the insert.
The blue backing paper for this is a design by Clare Walker and has kept the blue theme constant. The main scene has a warm glow due the sunset over the snowy scene and gives the card a very welcoming home for Christmas appeal.
Thank you Deloris, we could well do with some of the cool weather here down under. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
