Cute Kitty in Wreath DecoupageCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionHow cute is this? And so life like! I haven't had the pleasure of making a Scouse Mouse creation before.
I do love the step by step process when it is made this easy. I copied the sheet onto Crafty Bob's Gloss card for the elements and I used a matt copy for the topper. I cut out the topper and all the elements and set them aside.
It is always great to have such a choice of sentiments.
The only tricky part is the precise cutting around the holly of the wreath.
TIP. When I completed the cutting, I turned the wreath and kitty topper over onto a clean white sheet and used a black H.B pencil to carefully shade the edges so the white doesn't show up so stark on the completed card. If there were any little spots I was concerned still looked too white, I used a very pale green permanent ink pen to lightly touch those areas. NOTE: I used a very pale mustard on the kitten's features the same way, and also a pale red for the hat.
I used a white good quality card for the main card 32cmx 15 cm folded Easel Style.
Onto this, I used double sided tape to attach a pale red card 15 x 14.5cm. I then continued to make the other backing sheets. From the largest-- A mustard /green card 14.75x 14.25cm, next a deep olive green card 14 x 13.5 cm. I edged both of these with a shade darker pen as they were both textured core card.I adhered these together with double sided tape, and set these aside.
I mounted the topper with double sided tape onto the 2 backing sheets and then used double sided padded tape to add all the elements. BEFORE adding this to the red backing sheet, I wrapped a dark green 6mm satin ribbon around the card using a glue pen to attach it at the back. When it was well attached and dry I then used double sided tape to place the finished step by step topper onto the orange backing sheet. I made a dark green edge around the edge of the sentiment with a permanent ink pen, then mounted it onto 2 backing sheets using the Mustard green and the pale red as before.
I punched a hole where it was marked and threaded a short length of the same green ribbon and tied a bow. I attached this with double sided tape at the top R.H side over the horizontal ribbon, to make it appear as if it is tied to the main ribbon.
I hope you enjoy making this card as much as I did. Such a cheery look to the finished product, is, as always, very satisfying
Thank You for such a lovely design. I am sure everyone knows a cat lover this 2017 Christmas.
