This certainly is a Girls’ Thing and I love to do just that and is a perfect image for a card front fo my very special friend.
We often compare, as we take the same very small size, and when the right shoe comes up we often buy one for now and one for later.
So thank you, Carol Smith, for offering this sheet for sale this month. I have used a bright rose pink for the main card and cut it at 22x15cm and scored and folded it before attaching the pink spotty backing sheet inside as the insert.
I printed the sheet This card topper design certainly is a girl’s thing and that is exactly what I like to do and so does my provided twice on the A4 white matte card and used one image as the main point of interest for the card front.
I have used 10x8cm blue and 10x6.75cm black card to join to make the one 10 x 14.75cm backing sheet and attached the black and white gingham narrow ribbon across the join and secured the tails at the back before I attached this backing sheet to the pink card front.
I attached the main image onto a cream card cut at 9.5cm x13.25cm, which means there is a tiny 2mm border of the cream backing stitch evident.
I attached this to the card front leaving room to attach the pearls and the cute comment at the top.
I have used a pale mauve shade of pink to colour in the curly hair and the space between the arms as they were too tiny to cut away.
I completed the decoupage using small padded D.S. Squares. I tied the bow and attached it with a pearl at the side as extra embellishments. To complete the insert I have used the second main image to cut into an oval shape and attached this to the left hand side along with the sentiment.
I have used a peel off Happy Birthday in pink and silver tones and allowed room for my personal message.
This finished card has a very feminine theme and would suit other occasions, such as Mothers’ Day, Hello, Thinking of you, Get Well, and Thank you, which makes it a very handy sheet to use many more times.
