Deco Vintage 4

I have made 2 beautiful cards using this delightful Paris themed Art Deco design by Deborah Davies. I made several copies using white 170gsm satin finished photo paper. 2 prints of this design will fit onto one A4 sized paper, which meant I had many elements to work with.

To complete the first card, I used one full copy of the main image as the main backing sheet for the decoupage.

I used another image to cut away the left and right outside flanges.

I then used the central image of the elegant lady and the Eiffel Tower to attach using padded D.S. tape onto the next image and the same tape again to attach this onto the main image, to complete this section of the decoupage.

I have used an ivory 29x16cm card to score and fold. I made the topper using 3 backing sheets. The largest is 15 x14cm black. The 14.5x13cm oriental pale peach coloured, striped, backing sheet has tiny silver embossed flowers. The next black is cut at 13.5x11cm.

I matted these 3 backing sheets together using D.S. tape, attached the silver decorative peel off strips to the peach and smaller black backing sheets and attached the silver edged ribbon across the front horizontally 6cm down from the top edge of the largest black backing sheet and secured the tails at the back before attaching the backing sheet group onto the card front.

I used red power tape to attach the completed decoupage onto the mirror finished silver backing sheet, cut slightly larger than the decoupage and trimmed it all round to be 0.5cm wider than the decoupage.

I attached this to the card front using red power tape and then used the 0.4cm wide decorative silver peel off strips to decorate the mirror edges.

I cut out the single elegant lady and attached her to the card front using padded D.S. tape and squares cut to size.

Using tiny gold peel off pieces, I attached a ring, ear ring bangle and pendant, tied a matching bow and attached it using red power tape.

The self-sticking, 2 large and 4 small peach coloured gems and the sentiment complete the embellishment. To complete the insert, I have used peach coloured paper cut to size and attached the extra image supplied, using 2 pearls to attaching using silicone glue, a sentiment and a verse I have chosen.

The second ivory card measures 29.5x 15cm and is scored and folded before attaching the ribbon and matted together the 14cm square, peach and13cm square, black, floral embossed backing sheets using red power tape.

I made the topper using the same peach backing sheet cut at 14 x17.5cm and attached the black narrow 14x1.5cm on the left and leaving approximately 1cm, attached the black 14 x 3.5cm backing sheet.

I attached his to the card front using red power tape.

I have used a vertical sentiment, decorative peel off strips as embellishments, I cut the single image of the lady and attached her to the card front using padded D.S. tape and squares cut to size.

I have used the same peach background to enhance the insert and attached the extra image and the verse I have chosen, and one of the sentiments from the sheet.

Both these cards are ideally suited for so many female celebrations and occasions, Congratulations, Graduation Ball, Mother’s Day, Get Well, even Hello and Thinking of You when visiting is not always possible.
