birthday tea#3

A lovely friendly group of girls, out for a morning of chat, coffee or tea, and of course cake, is a very appropriate card for me to be able to purchase to make for my friend, for her birthday.

There is a group of 10 of us, so almost a birthday each month, and we are all greeting card makers.

Thank you Carol, this design is perfect. I printed the sheet provided onto CB 180gsm white card, and cut out all the elements. I used a green pen to colour the edges of the main image.

I mounted the backing sheet of pale aqua green which measures 11.25 x11.25cm on to a white card which measures 11.5cm square, using D.S tape.

I then and used the same pen to colour the edges of the white card.

I attached the aqua green 1.5cm wide satin ribbon across the front of this spotted backing sheet 1.5cm down from the top edge and used padded D.S tape to attach it to a bright green backing sheet which measures 12.5 cm square.

I used a white backing sheet behind the green backing sheet attaching it using regular D.S tape and coloured the edges using the same green pen.

The main white card is cut at 29cm x 13.5cm, and scored and folded, before attaching the completed backing sheets using regular D.S. tape.

I attached the main image to the card front using padded D.S. tape and then built up the decoupage step by step attaching the elements using tiny padded pieces of tape.

I used a black and silver peel off strip which I had coloured using the same green pen around the edges of the white main card front before making a simple bow and attaching it using power tape.

I made the insert from the same aqua green card with the white spots and added some cut out pictures of cups and saucers, and attached a length of the same ribbon vertically , and then used D.S tape to attach the insert to the inside of the card.

This kept the insert in the same theme as the card front. This is a very happy, very female card to suit so many occasions, and lends itself to so many captions and sentiments.

Printed onto glossy photo paper, attached decoupage to the topper, I matted onto a blank white square card, and inserted my own insert paper, which says Happy Birthday.
