I started with a piece of dark blue card stock that was 17.5 x 12 cm when folded. This is just wide enough and high enough for the image.

I then cut the background out following around the tree line.I attached this by adding a row of double sided tape across the bottom and then adding silicone blobs to the back of trees. I use silicone to get more height than foam dots. By attaching this way, you also get a gentle slope giving the image more depth. I then cut the girl and scooter and the girl and decoupaged. Again I used varying depths of silicone. I then cut the bird and bent the wings back slightly to make the chest puff out giving more texture. I then used the birthday sentiment in the left hand side to finish it off.

When every I decoupage, I always run an embossing tool around cut edges to push the cut back down and then run a dark grey graphics pen around the edges to take the sharpness away from the cut edge
