Graceful Swimming TurtleCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I love it when I have the chance to work with original art, that is offered by designers on Craftsuprint. This is an adorable image by Ross Slater-Finch from his own original art done on silk. I printed the sheet supplied onto 200gsm good quality matt card and cut out all the elements. I made the step by step process as instructed by the numbering on the sheet. To help the rounded shell appear more dimensional , I used my hands and thumbs, to slightly curve the shell sections, and then added padded tape to the centre of each piece, and to the flippers, but I used regular double sided tape to the edges of the shell pieces and to the head. To complete the topper, I used peel off silver glitter strips for the 4 sides.

I made a white card, 26cm x 13 cm, to give a clean crisp look to the finish. To this I used double sided tape to matte a blue/green sea looking backing sheet cut at 12cm squarer and added some sea creatures. I attached the completed topper with padded tape, and cut out some green grass looking pieces to attach at the lower edge and to overlap the topper.

I continued the theme on the insert, and added some more sea elements. The verse I have added into the free verses list, however the second and third photographs show the verse, and also some information about the Green sea Turtles. I have made this card for my Grand daughter, who is a surfer and a staunch conservationist, and I know, she will also like the little hidden photograph entitled "foot prints in the sand" which is shown in photograph 3. I live in Qld, and we are very proud of what is happening conservation wise up here with endangered species, so thank you for the opportunity to provide just the most perfect design for this card.
