Blue Robins in the Australian BushCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

If you have a bird lover in your greeting card list of recipients, then you don’t need to look any further than this Blue Robins in the Australian Bush sheet, design by Sally McIntyre.

It cleverly features 2 toppers for decoupage on the one sheet.

I have made both and feature the first completed card front by using an extra orange off set backing sheet cut at 12.75 x 8.5cm and attaching it to the orange bordered main image allowing 1cm in from the left hand edge and 0.5cm extended out from the right hand side.

The next textured metallic bronze backing sheet is cut at 13.75 x 10.5cm and is attached to the orange backing sheet and the main image using D.S. tape.

I wrapped the royal blue ribbon across 4cm down from the top edge and used a short length to slip under and tie a single knot.

The main 23 x14.5cm gloss white card is scored and folded. The topper is attached using D.S. tape. I have then added the royal blue fine line peel off strips as embellishments and used a trimmed sentiment tag to add a peel off birthday sentiment.

I completed the decoupage carefully aligning the slight anticlockwise twist step by step. The second card is a very quick easy to assemble decoupage on an Australian themed backing.

I attached the main image to a sunny floral scene cut at 14.75 x 7.25cm and I have edged it with the royal blue peel off strips before using D.S. tape to attach the main image and then both onto the pale sunny yellow 15.25 x 11cm and the gold metallic textured backing sheet 16 x 11.5cm.

The main 25 x 16.5cm white gloss card is scored and folded and has decorative gold peel off strips around the edges.

The completed topper is added with D.S. tape before I have completed the step by step decoupage using tiny padded D.S. squares.

I used to have lots of these busy chatty tiny blue wrens in my beach side garden among my native plants.
