Crafting is Fun 1Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionIf like me, you enjoy decoupage and fiddly cutting, this definitely is a card to add to your project list.
The sheet provided has elements in soft blue and tan shades and many extra elements to use on this project and to keep for many other projects in the future.
I prepared an ivory 30x15cm good quality card and scored and folded it. I printed the sheet twice onto the one A4 good quality white card and used the main image from one copy as the main backing sheet.
I made a blue 14 cm square backing sheet and attached butterfly decorated peel off strip on all 4 edges.
I attached a dark blue and an ivory cotton lace 4cm wide crochet strip to the back of the main image 5cm down from the blue backing sheet top edge before I attached this as the main part of the topper, using padded D.S. tape to the card front.
I used the second copy from the sheet I printed, to carefully cut out and retain the outer blue and tan decorative frame to use in part of the insert.
The remaining 10.5cm square tan framed image I attached to attach to the card front using padded D.S. tape.
I have then attached all the smaller elements to 200gsm card, as a backing behind the 2 sets of extra elements and my roller glue tape and carefully cutting each of the elements I have then used as some of the elements as the decoupage.
I have used 4 of the blue flowers and attached the pink matching centres and attached a tiny pink pearl to the centre of each one and used white glue to attach these to the corners of the card front.
I have also attached the 2 pencils, 2 of the tiny butterflies together and a larger butterfly. I have highlighted the feelers with a fine black pen. I have used a gold peel off sentiment to attach to the blue background and then onto a backing sheet of the tan background sheet I have used on the inside.
I have used red power tape to attach the bow I have made using 2.5cm wide of dusty blue satin ribbon.
To complete the insert, I have a backing sheet which is a design product of mine, available on my home page, cup966501_21027, Crushed Paper Effect, in the tan shade as it matches so well with the theme by the designer.
I have cut it to fit and used the verse I have chosen and used the reserved frame to attach over the top before attaching this to the right hand side and adding the pencil, 4 small paper gems and 4 blue jewel gems.
I have used 2 of the tan flowers and the matching centres and 2 tiny blue pearls as embellishments for the left hand side.
I have used a 2cm wide, 15cm long, tan paper strip to attach a strip of lace to either side before attaching this to the centre fold of the insert as extra embellishments.
I will have many uses for this universal occasion card as I have many crafting friends. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
