Vicky Sumner has offered an unusual way of using this image, which I have taken advantage of and it has resulted in a delightfully beautiful, quick and easy method of adding dimension in this use of decoupage.

I usually cut, using very tiny scissors, as close as I can to the image when using decoupage as embellishments, in this design, allowing to keep the white shadow effect made the trimming of the design very quick and easy.

The whispered writing effect forms the background on the oval white lace, in this design and so makes it possible to leave the white shadow effect around the vintage floral image.

I have made a 28x14cm card printed on both sides with cup814313_79993 Christmas lace Effect, a design by Clare Walker, in a soft silver grey and attached the main image which I have printed at 12cm square and attached to a pale soft green 13cm square backing sheet.

I have used silver fine line peel off strips to define the shapes of the lace panels and the central ribbon.

I have used a decorative lace effect silver peel off strip on the outer edges of the pale soft green backing sheet.

I have attached the decoupage pieces using padded .D.S. squares. I have added some gems and the sentiment and drawn the butterfly feelers using a fine line black permanent pen.

To complete the insert, I have attached a 9cm white doily behind the verse I have chosen from the free verse section and added some butterflies and a bow as extra embellishments and to keep true to the theme of the design.

Thank you Vicky, this greeting card design could be used for so many occasions, and has such universal appeal, I will be able to use it many more times.
