Mr & Mrs Clause A RockinCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This is a very cheeky Christmas card design, suitable for teenagers through to adults of all ages. It is also a very busy design, so I have tried something new. I have used all white backing sheets and given them each a different look. The card is from a Christmas wrapping print, and I printed it on both sides of a 200gsm white card, which measures, 28 x 15cm. I made three backing sheets. The largest one is 13cm square. I used a bright leaf green permanent pen to draw a line 3mm in from the outside edge, and also used this pen to colour the very edges of the backing sheet. I, then cut a white backing sheet, 12 cm square, and used 3 different colours to draw diagonal lines, using a metal ruler, to draw across the front of this backing sheet. The colours I used are, a light red, a very bright green and a purple. I first drew a red line from the right hand top corner to the left hand bottom corner, and used the ruler and my eyes as guides, to keep the lines parallel. As you can see they are not perfect, but it still made a great looking backing sheet. The next backing sheet, measures, 11cm square, and I used the same light red pen to colour the edges. I used padded tape to attach the backing sheets to one another, and then attached the diagonal red stripe ribbon, 5.5 cm up from the bottom of the largest backing sheet, and then wrap it around to firmly attach behind the largest backing sheet. I cut out the main element and one sentiment, and used the red pen to colour the edges of this topper before attaching it to the top backing sheet, using padded D.S. tape. I was then able to attach this completed topper to the card front, using D.S. padded tape. I made a simple bow and attached it and the sentiment with power tape. I added some tiny peel offs to 2 of the corners.

Completing the insert was so easy as I had already printed the Christmas print onto both the outside and inside of the card. I added some peel offs I had coloured with the bright green pen, and left enough space to attach my personal Christmas message.
