JJ CHRISTMAS BRINGING HOME THE TREE 7X5Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This is a beautiful Christmas scene and one we never see in Australia, but for those family and friends we have now living here from the Northern hemisphere, a scene like this, is a nostalgic reminder of the magical beauty of a white Christmas. I used 2 copies of the sheet provided to complete this card. The first copy I used as the main topper. I cut out the main element leaving a 1mm edge of the cream surround, and then used a deep plum shade of permanent pen to colour the very edge of the scene. The second copy, I cut off the outer decorated frame, but kept the holly and burgundy bows intact. I coloured the edges of this with the same deep plum pen. I printed a cream based poinsettia print onto 200gsm card, and cut it at 27cm x 11.5 cm. I used the same plum coloured pen to colour the outside edges, and scored and folded it, and coloured the folded edge as well. I made a very dark burgundy backing sheet, which measures 12.5 x 9.5 cm and used a lighter shade of burgundy satin ribbon to attach to the front of this, measuring 2cm up from the lower edge. I attached this at the back of the burgundy backing sheet, and then used power tape to attach it to the front of the poinsettia card front. I used padded D.S tape to attach the main scene, and then attached the smaller version on top again using Padded D.S tape. I made a simple bow with the same ribbon and attached the sentiment. For the insert, I used the same poinsettia print to copy onto 80gsm copy paper and cut it to size for the insert. I used the plum coloured pen, to colour a Merry Christmas, a few stars and a Christmas tree, which are all peel offs, to add to the insert. I used the 2 smaller copies of the card to cut out and fold in half and then added my own greeting to the inside. I now hav2 delightful gift cards to match the Christmas card.

A big thank you, to Joy Jerome for this beautiful scene.
