Joy to one and all at ChristmasCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionThis is a golden Christmas wish for Joy at Christmas. It is truly a beautiful card design, with some extra elements provided, to give the finished product some dimension. I printed 2 copies of the main element, onto 200gsm white card. I used one as the main backing sheet, and the second one to reduce the size by, cutting and discarding the outer gold, floral frame, but, keeping the burgundy coloured bows, and the gift intact with the central framed area. I then used a gold metallic pen to colour the very outside edges of these 2 copies, and then, I used padded D.S. tape to attach the smaller image to the main larger image. The first and largest backing sheet I then made is a bronze textured card, which measures, 11cm square. I coloured the edges of this with the same gold metallic pen. The next backing sheet is a white card, which measures 12cm square. I coloured the very outside edges of this backing sheet, and also measured in 2mm from this edge, and ruled narrow lines, using the narrow nib of the gold metallic pen. I made the main card, by printing a copy of a gold scrolled wrapping paper onto 200gsm white card, and cutting it to measure 26cm x 13 cm. Before scoring and folding this card. I used the gold metallic narrow nib pen, to colour the edges, and then after folding the card, I used the wider nib to make gold lines along the edges of the front of this gold scroll decorated card front. I used 2 lengths of 4mm wide white satin, gold trimmed ribbon, placed at 1cm apart with the lower ribbon up by 2cm, from the bottom edge of the white backing sheet, horizontally across the card and around to the back, firmly attaching it with power tape. I used power tape to attach this backing sheet to the card front and the same tape to attach the bronze backing sheet to the white backing sheet. I then attached the topper with tiny padded D.S. squares, and the same squares to attach the gift with the gold bow. I made a simple bow using 2 lengths of the same ribbon, and attached it with power tape. For the insert, I used the print of the gold scroll Christmas paper, cutting it so that I was able to use the red edge with holly and berries, and added 2 of the bows supplied, and 2 of the gifts supplied, and added the peel off glitter gold sentiment. I have kept the extra bows to attach to the personal greeting I have planned for this insert. This card is a perfect size for posting acceptance in Australia, so I am extremely pleased with the outcome. Thank you to Pauline Black for the design.
