Beautiful Christmas Church With Red Poinsettia 8x8Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

This really lovely Christmas scene is a reminder of the reason we all share Christmas, and especially Christmas Day all over the world. The snowy pine needles and pine cone frame, gives the scene the extra dimension. I printed the sheet supplied twice, as I wanted to give even extra dimension by adding the steps, spire and front entrance as a decoupage. This also gave me an extra poinsettia to make another gift card. I used 200gsm white card to make the copies. I cut out the elements from the first copy, leaving a 2mm white edge all round. I coloured this edge with a red permanent pen. I attached the red ribbon at the back, by measuring up 3cm, and using D.S. tape. I made a red backing sheet which measures, 11cm square. I used the same red pen to colour the very edge of this backing sheet, and attached it using padded D.S. tape. The next backing sheet is a dark sky blue and measures, 12cm square. Before attaching the backing sheet using padded D.S. tape, I used very narrow, red peel off strips, 3mm in from the outside edges, to add even more dimension to the final appearance. From the second copy, I cut out the extra piece of the church, and attached it to the front of the scene with small D.S. squares. I also cut out the poinsettia flower keeping the leaves intact. I used mod podge dimensional magic on the leaves and the centre of the poinsettia. I set this aside to dry before attaching it. I then wrapped the ribbon around the topper and backing sheets to firmly attach to the back of the blue backing sheet. I made the main card from a design by Clare Walker, cup797371_79993, Mistletoe and Berries background sheet, by printing it onto both sides of a 200gsm white card and cutting it at 25 cm x 12.5 cm. I attached the topper using D.S. tape. I used padded D.S. squares to attach the poinsettia with the leaves, and then the single poinsettia element supplied with the sheet provided. For the insert, which has the mistletoe and berries background print directly onto the card, I added some peel offs and sentiments, and left the right hand side for my own personal Christmas greeting. I made a bow with the same ribbon and attached it with D.S. tape, and also attached one of the sentiments from the sheet provided
