Blue bakery card front

I have used this most unusual and specific design as a thank you card for the dear friend who organizes everything for our regular, happy card making with our close social friends, which lucky for us also involves, coffee and cake and Lunch while we work.

I printed the sheet provided twice onto the same A4, white satin finished photo paper and, repeated the same size once more.

The first copy I have used as the main backing sheet and attached the 2.5cm wide blue satin ribbon at the back of the image in line with the topper ribbon, leaving the tails loose.

I prepared the 13cm square backing sheet, by defining the edges with the blue metallic pen and attached it to the back of the main image, using D.S. tape, still leaving the tails loose.

I prepared the white 13.5cm backing sheet by defining the edges with a gold metallic pen and attached it wrapping the ribbon tails and securing them at the back using red power tape.

The 200gsm powder blue main card is cut at 29cm x 14.5cm and has the edges defined using the gold metallic pen.

This part of the topper I have then attached using red power D.S. tape. I have used the other 2 copies of the image to cut out the blue ribbon, which I have lined up with the satin ribbon and attached it using padded 8mm x 5mm, D.S. squares.

I attached the frame with the cake group, using the same padded squares. I completed the cake group decoupage using the step-by-step method making sure to keep to the order of, eclair, the 2 cup cakes and finally the 2 chocolate cherries, using the padded squares cut to size.

I added the extra cupcake onto the ribbon centre circle using padded squares and the extra kiwi fruit using silicon glue.

I have used the large ribbon bow as extra embellishments, which is attached using 7mm wide red power tape.

I have printed and made the sentiment and backed the gold edged white background with the same powder blue as the main card and cut the edge curves to match the panel attached to the card front.

I attached this using red power tape. To complete the 8ogsm powder blue textured blue insert, which I have attached using a glue tape runner, I have added the thank you, I have coloured with a permanent pen and the various cupcakes and the eclairs.

I have used a cut and paste to make the space for my special greeting by using the extra black frame to give the appearance it is 4 sided and attached it using a glue tape runner.

I embellished the cherries on the front using mod podge dimension magic and a tiny crochet hook. This was a perfect choice for this purpose and I enjoyed the decoupage challenge and the outcome will be sure to please my friend.
