I have used this beautiful pink and white water colour lilies, a design by Nick Bowley, as the main image and feature of this double insert style card I have designed for group function style celebrations with enough room for many signatures.
I made an ivory card, cut at 30cm x 15cm and defined the edges with a gold metallic pen. I attached a peel off gold lace trim onto the inside of the back outer edge.
I then made the extra insert from a white card cut at 27.5 x 15 cm, then defined all edges before I scored and folded the card off centre at 13.5cm and using D.S. tape attached this to the inside back cover of the main ivory card to meet with the edge of the peel off gold lace strip.
I printed the sheet provided onto the one A4 white200gsm Crafty Bob supplied card and used one copy to cut out the main element and use the gold metallic pen to define the edges.
I used the second copy to cut away the background and retain the main central image keeping intact the edges of the green leaves and the butterflies.
I used the gold metallic pen to define the edges and then used gold glitter glue to highlight the butterflies wings and spots, some of the green leaves and the gold edges of the white main central image.
I set this aside to dry.
I then used the exotic background, backing sheets, a Designer Resource by Jennifer Designz, cup978118_68705, and chose the shade C from the list and I printed off 2 in this shade at 15cm square then altered the hue slightly so that it appeared as musk pink.
I printed, using this musk pink shade, one sheet at 14.5cm square and 2 sheets at 12cm square. To complete the card front, I defined the edges of the backing sheet with the gold metallic pen and attached this to the card front using D.S. tape.
I attached the full main image onto the backing sheet using D.S. tape. I then attached the smaller gold glitter finished element to the card front using padded D.S. tape and squares. To complete the first insert page, I cut out both the 12cm square background images and using D.S. tape attached one onto the right hand side page.
The second 12cm square backing sheet I then attached to a 14.5 cm square gold edge defined light weight card white card and attached this to the left hand side.
To prepare the larger 15cm square backing sheets, I trimmed the left and right edges of each one, so that they now measured 15 x 13.5cm.
I removed the entire pink square from one background sheet and attached the frame only to the right hand side of the insert.
The left hand backing sheet I have partially removed the pink square so that the space allowed enough room for the verse I have chosen, from the free verse list, would fit, into this space and attached these together and then onto the left hand side of the insert page.
I have then used some left over elements from an extra copy of the main sheet supplied. This has been a most rewarding experience to see how this design then became such a beautiful greeting card. Thank you Nick, I have a lovely crafty day.
Tomorrow I will add one of the Gift cards I have made from some of the smaller main image and sentiment elements provided.
