Lovely Deep Pink Magnolias in a Ornate Frame Completed by Rita Parker

I used a 250gsm Matt dark green card, to make the base card. I printed out the design sheet twice on 160 gsm matt card, so I could cut some of the flowers and leaves, to make extra decoupage layers, adding more interest to the card.

This worked excellently and I can use the other half of the second sheet next time. The first layer I used exactly as designed. The base card was cut slightly smaller so the pink edges extend beyond the card edges. It looks really effective.

The second layer I cut out to the white edge of the rectangle ignoring the lace doiley effect, I found it too fiddly.

The bottom spray of leaves, the bottom flower I cut from my extra sheet, as well as the four magnolia buds.

I used 2mm sticky pads for the decoupage layers.

I used the birthday wish sentiment, but put the blank one underneath to came that extra 3 dimensional effect.I finished the card off with the same white 160gsm matt White card for the insert.

A really pretty card, quick and easy to make, even if you do add the extra layers like me.
