Cream Orchids Card Front & Decoupage

I really like orchids, but I also have a great deal of trouble keeping them alive and thriving. The cymbidiums do not like our Queensland weather nor do the beautiful and sweet smelling lily of the valley flowers that are the accompanying part of this floral display. The background suits the colour scheme to a great advantage as once the decoupage is completed the flowers seem to jump right out of the frame. I used the background sheet, apple blossom, cup878154_79993 designed by Clare Walker, to print onto both the outside and inside of the 120gsm main white card. I then used D.S. tape to mount the main image from the sheet provided onto a white card cut at 13 x 9.5 and I used a dark green permanent pen and ruler to define the edges of the main image. I wrapped the gold wide satin and organza ribbon across the lower edge of the main image, and used a short length of the same ribbon to thread through the left hand side and tie a simple bow. I then used D.S. tape to attach this topper to the front of the apple blossom background. I used gold peel off strips to define the inner frame and the very outside of the main element. I then cut out the small elements and used tiny squares of thin padded D.S. tape to attach the tiny elements in a step by step method. The card was so easy and quick to make and I used a small image of the finished photograph to place on the left hand side of the insert and on the space on the right hand side, I placed a universal simple verse to suit a thinking of you as the sentiment. Such an easy and quick card to make from a beautiful design, that will suit almost every occasion and it is certainly one I will keep at the top of my easy card stash.
