Birthday Floral Quick cardCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionThis is a perfect greeting card design with a quick topper that is so easy and so realistic. The flowers have been laid down on the plate as though they have just been freshly picked, ready to pop in a vase.
The simple decoupage then enhances the image into a 3 dimensional image. I printed the sheet supplied onto CB matte white 200gsm card and cut out the elements and 2 of the sentiments.
I used D.S. padded tape to attach the decoupage and bow and then attached a pink grosgrain ribbon across the back, 2cm up from the bottom edge.
I made 2 backing sheets. The apple green which measures 12.5 x 8.5cm, I coloured in the edges with a slightly darker green pen, and the pink which measures13.5 x 9.5cm, I used a brighter light green to colour in the edges.
I attached these together with D.S. tape, and attached the topper, using the same tape, and then wrapped the pink ribbon around to the back of the pink backing sheet and secured it, using power tape.
I made a card using a pale green which measures 20cm x 14cm, and before scoring and folding it, I used the darker of the green pens and a ruler, to colour the edges of the outside of the front and back of this card.
I made a 3 step concertina fold to support the sentiment and tied the onestep bow to attach to the front using power tape.
For the insert I used the backing sheet, cup8143143_79993 Christmas Lace Effect, designed by Clare Walker, which I cut at 19.5 x 13.5, and added a hand drawn daisy, the blank sentiment and 2 tails of pink paper to appear as ribbon tails.
I drew a rectangle space with the green pen to use for the personal greeting at a later date. I am more than delighted with the results of my work so thank you so much Cassandra, I love this design.
