Beautiful Scene and White Roses Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Occasion
Birthday / Birthday Floral

Beautiful, soft shades of blue and green, with exquisite white roses, are the features of this card design. The card lends itself for almost every occasion and celebration. A must, for my stash, to always have on hand.

I have made a card, with an insert, and a gift card, for just that reason.

This is an easy, simple, cut out, and attach to a card front, as a topper, or, as I have done, print the design twice, and used the second copy to make a decoupage of the roses, and the tree.

I began with a blue backing sheet, which measures,13 x13cm, and is, exactly the same shade as the surround of the art work. I used padded D.S Tape, to attach this to the white card front, which measures, 14.5 cm high, and 14cm wide.

I used silver, glitter, peel off strips, around the outside of the edges of the backing sheet, directly onto the white card.

I then attached another backing sheet, which measures, 12cm square, "Christmas lace Effect", cup814313_79993, a design by Clare Walker. To do this, I used regular D.S tape. I used the computer to change the shade slightly of this sheet, to suit the shades in the card deign.

I cut out the main element, from the first copy, leaving a tiny white edge, on all 4 sides. I needed to be particularly precise cutting the line, between the main element and the miniature image. To attach this first copy of the main element, to the card front, I first of all, made another blue backing sheet, 10.5 x10.5cm, and matted, the main element to this backing sheet, with D.S. tape, then onto the main card front, with padded D.S. tape.

I then used, the second copy, to cut around the 2 rose sprays, and was careful to include, some of the leaves that hang over the frame. I also very carefully, and, using very tiny scissors, cut out the main tree trunk , including a few of the branches.

I used padded tiny squares to attach the roses, and D.S tape cut into very fine strips, to attach the tree trunk. I added the sentiment with padded tape.

For the insert, I cut the sheet I had chosen, to size, and, I added one of the miniature images, some peel off strips, and a sentiment.

I decided to make a gift card, in an easel style, and, in a sort of a house shape. I have friends about to move into a new home, and thought the shape was appropriate. I used the same backing sheets, as I did for the main card. I also used glitter strips and a stretch Gold cord. This will be a perfect addition to a bunch of flowers or a bottle of wine. I haven't included the sizes for the gift card. Its' front panel measures 8 cm high, and 7cm wide. The very top point is joined by 0.5cm to the back panel. It might even be more cute with a chimney. I might try that next time.

Thank you Ceredwyn, for another delightfully easy card to make
