This red version of the theme Stephen Poore has used for this design has an equally captivating image to use as a topper to make a beautiful quick an, easy greeting card.
I have made the main card bottle green, cutting it at 28.5 x 14.5cm, scoring it and folding it before attaching the topper using D.S. tape.
I printed the sheet provided twice onto white A4satin finished 170gsm photo paper. I used one image as the main backing sheet and attached the mauve ribbon across the front horizontally across where the top of the wings butterfly.
I prepared the next backing sheet, cup986138_21027, Mauve, Delicate pastel coloured spotty backing sheet, cut at12.5cm square and by defining the edges with a mauve metallic pen.
The white 13.5cm backing sheet edges are also defined using the same metallic pen. This topper with the ribbon tails secured at the back, I then attached to the green card front using red power tape.
I used the second copy of the main image to cut away the butterfly, retaining it to use as decoupage for the card front, and most of the flower frame retaining it to use as part of the insert.
I have used the same mauve, spotty backing sheet to cut at 28.5x 14.5cm and attach it to the centre of the inside of the card.
To embellish the insert, I have used the retained floral frame and one of the smaller images to attach on the left and a verse I have chosen to attach onto the right of the insert.
To finish the embellishments on the card front I have attached the matching bow using red power tape and the butterfly using silicone glue.
I have added the birthday sentiment, slightly under the butterfly’s body and wings to give the card front image more dimension.
I used 3 of the smaller images to make gift cards. The front of the folded green card measures 7.25cm square, has a green check bow, a white insert with a birthday wishes sentiment.
The folded Ivory card front, measures 8x7.5cm and has the sentiment on the card front, with an ivory insert.
The folded mauve finished gift card measure 7.5cm square and has a sentiment inside. The shades in this design enable it to be used with a multitude of different backings and backgrounds, so making each card very individual I have made matching envelopes for each of these as well as the main card.
