Simple A5 Scenic Watercolour 7Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Anne Leaver’s water Colour design #7, looks magical and have managed to make 2 very different greeting cards using this delightful design.

The larger design finishes with an open size of 27cmx20.25cm and is for my Granddaughter’s 21st Birthday.

I made a gloss gold 19x13cm backing sheet from 200gsm card.I copied the sheet provided 4times at20.3x25.4cm and cut out the main image retaining the gold edge.

I used D.S tape to attach this to the gold backing sheet, 1.5cm up from the bottom edge and attached the bronze organza 3cm wide ribbon 3.5cm down from the top edge and secured it at the back with magic tape before attaching this section of the topper to the card front.

I set this aside while I prepared the rest of the elements to form the decoupage. I used a second main image to cut away the outer white gold framed area and used D.S. Padded tape to attach this to the topper.

I used a third copy to remove the shaped section of trees and ground area and attached this using Padded D.S. tape.

I cut the balloon out of the 4th copy and D.S. taped it to the topper. I tied the matching ribbon bow added peel off Gold stars, the sentiment which reads “Happy 21st. Birthday”.

The insert with the verse is printed onto a soft yellow sheet and cut to measure 27x20.25cm. I have used a smaller print and the larger frame from the second greeting card as embellishments for the insert.

The second card measures 24x14.5 and I printed the sheet supplied 3 times.

The tangerine14x11cm backing sheet is attached to the ivory card front and the black, 10x13.5cm, is attached next both using red power tape.

I have attached the gold ribbon across the back of the main 12x8cm image 3cm up from the bottom edge and secured it at the back using magic tape.

The 2 elements have then been attached to the card topper using padded D.S. tape, I have used silver peel off decorative strips and the gold peel off sentiment as embellishments.

I have printed a different verse and a smaller image as embellishment on the insert. A very productive afternoon with many thanks to Anne. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus
