Male Card Vintage CarCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Marijke has designed this delightful, bright yet nostalgic male greeting card that will suit many occasions. I have used it for my son in-laws birthday, and I am extremely pleased with the result.

I printed the sheet provided twice and I used the main image from one copy as the main backing sheet.

The second copy of the main image I cut out the vintage card and the inner narrow decorated frame retaining the happy birthday sentiment with the frame intact, but cut out the second flower spray separately.

I used tiny strips of D.S. padded squares to attach the narrow section and D.S. tape where size allowed. I then attached this completed topper to a gloss white backing sheet cut at 13cm square. The edge of this I have given and aged appearance by using a copper metallic pen and waiting a few seconds before rubbing the ink to smudge the look.

I attached the cream satin ribbon across the back of this backing sheet before I attached the next backing sheet, which is black craft paper, cut at 14x 14cm and I used the same pen on these edges and then used the knife edge of my small scissors to rough the edges of the paper to continue the aged look.

The main card is a black firm 200gsm card, which when folded measures 15 x 15cm square. I have a used a very fine parchment style paper for the insert and attached the extra vintage card image and the sentiment.
