This delightfully different and very appropriate close up cross stitch design is perfect as a Birthday greeting for one of the ladies at the charity craft club I attend.
It is easily made into a very quick topper for a card front or completed with backing sheets and extra embellishments as I have done.
I have printed the sheet provided by Anne Lever onto good quality A4 white 170gsm satin finished card and cut out the main image at 10.25cm square, by leaving the tiny white margin on all 4 sides.
I used a purple permanent pen to define the edges and attached the aqua ribbon horizontally across the back 2cm down from the top edges before attaching this topper to the pale, 11cm square, purple gingham backing paper and the 11.75 purple with white dot backing sheet using D.S tape.
Before securing the ribbon at the back of the largest backing sheet, I used the same pen to define all the edges of both backing sheets.
The main card is black cut at 25.75x13cm and scored and folded before attaching the completed topper and adding the tied aqua bow.
The insert is satin finished 170 gsm paper, folded and cut to size with the verse I have chosen printed onto the right side of the insert.
I have used the extra small image supplied as an embellishment and left ample room for the group to sign the page.
Thank you the beautiful image. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
