BudoirCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionThis cute card is a perfect choice for my lifelong friend whose family now is her beloved cat. Any cat lover would be more than delighted to be the recipient of this card. I printed it twice and each time onto CB 200gsm gloss photo paper. I used the first copy of the main image as the main backing sheet and used Padded D.S. tape to attach it to the next backing sheet, which is exactly the same shade of pink as the kitty cat’s cute pink jumper, and measures 11.5cm square, I coloured some gold peel off strips with a burgundy shade permanent pen and attached them 2mm in from the outside edge of the pink backing sheet. I coloured some pale pink gems with the same pen to attach to this pink backing sheet once they were completely dry. The next backing sheet is a textured card in a pale grey and measures 12.5cm square. I used the same peel offs as before, which I had also coloured with the burgundy pen. This colour pen was used to draw the viewers eyes passed the cute gold shoes, then to the cat’s face and then to the burgundy roses in the elegant vase. I used a satin and organza silver trimmed 2.25cm wide ribbon, to attach across the front of the main image, 1.5cm down from the top edge of the grey backing sheet, using D.S. tape across where the Happy Birthday sentiment is situated. I used 17 of the burgundy coloured gems to attach to the front of the pink backing sheet, and then used D.S. tape to attach the ribbon around to the back of the grey backing sheet. I used the second gloss copy of the main image to cut out the cat, the lamp shade, and the very top edge of the chest of drawers, which includes the perfume bottles and the handbag. I used tiny squares and dots of D.S. tape to attach each item carefully in place. I made a simple bow with the same ribbon and used D.S. power tape to attach it beside the lampshade. The main card is from a vault freebie and is a burgundy copy of the Denim Lace background, cup845860_7133, which I printed at 26x 13.5cm onto the same white 200gsm gloss card. I scored and folded this and to make the insert I used a paper copy of the same denim lace to over print with cup 406974_874, also a previous purchase, and used the verse 2(a) from cup846611_9035, to cut into 3 sections and attach onto the right hand side using D.S. tape. I also added a handmade paper flower to the left hand side and attached it using white glue. I have left the oval section blank at this stage for my very personal greeting. It will be posted to my friend on Monday. I really enjoy being able to use all the resources I gain from being an active member of craftsuprint, not only are they all of such high quality, and once I have made the purchase, I am free to use all and any of the resources again and again without further cost, and have the ability to enhance every item I make, so that each one is an unique item.
Thank you to Susan Gilbert for this delightful card front design. Pamela Horton
