Count Your Blessings, 5Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus
OccasionThis floral design in pale green with a lace frame, by Ceredwyn, lends itself to so many occasions. I have not chosen a verse, as yet, as it is one of those designs I like to keep on hand for a special occasion not yet on the horizon.
I printed the sheet twice and kept one copy to use as decoupage on the topper. I trimmed the main image leaving a 0.1mm margin of white and attached the ivory lace around all 4 sides using D.S. tape.
I secured the corners of the lace underneath by using thickened white glue and small strips of white paper.
I made the main card using a very pale green floral, printed onto both sides of white card then cut down to measure 31 x 16cm.
I scored and folded the floral card before attaching the rosette. I made this lace rosette by gathering a length of the same lace and stitching the hand-made flower and then keeping the needle and thread intact, continued to stitch this to the top left hand corner of the card.
To secure it further I used a fine brush and the thickened white glue to catch the edges of the lace rosette to the card front.
I cut out the extra butterflies and 2 of the roses and attached them both using padded tiny squares. I used one of the sentiments and an extra butterfly on the left hand side of the insert.
To complete the insert I have attached some lace and a gingham ribbon and bow onto the right hand side.
The space is left for a verse and my special greeting. This is a beautiful design very easily and quickly made into a very special greeting card. Pamela Horton. The Whispering Platypus.
