Pink Champagne with Glasses to the Happy Couple 8x8Completed by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Champagne and flowers are wonderful as a gift for any occasion or any special celebration, and if you cannot give the real thing, why not send a card that shows recognition of the event by making this card, as your special gift. The design is so bright and full of life and is so easy and simply put together to complete and make this beautiful card. I printed the sheet provided onto CB180gsm white card, twice, as I wanted to achieve a very dimensional look using a simple decoupage. I cut out the main element from the first copy and used this as the main backing sheet. I used a bright green highlighter to colour the edges of the main element before using D.S. padded tape to attach it to a background sheet, cup814313_79993, Christmas Lace Effect, by Clare Walker which I had cut at 13cm square and used the same green highlighter to colour all 4 edges.

The next backing sheet is a very deep plum shade which compliments the colours of the leaves and the wine bottle on the main image. It measures 13.5 cm square and I attached it to the green lace effect backing sheet using the D.S. padded tape. The main card is white 180gsm card cut at 30 x 15cm, which I scored and folded and used the same highlighter to edge all inside and outside edges. I used D.S. padded tape to attach the topper to the card front, and used the plum coloured glitter peel offs to attach around all 4 sides of the white main card. I then used the second copy of the main image to cut away and discard the green surround and the shadows, and I kept the central image as one piece. I used D.S. padded tape and squares to attach this as the decoupage. I made some swirls with some jewels and added a few single gems into the three larger flowers.

I made a white bow from a satin and organza ribbon that had a silver thread running along the edge, this added to the look of luxury. I am so thrilled at this beautiful result, so thank you to Nick, for making this design available for me to purchase. For the insert I used the same background sheet, cup814313_79993, as I had used as the first backing sheet for the front of the card, and I cut it at 29.5 x 14.75cm. I added 2 plum coloured strips from the same card as the second backing sheet, and added the miniature image, as was supplied on one of the sheets. I have made a gift card with the second miniature image. I have kept the completed card without the sentiment attached, as it will suit so many different occasions, even graduation and Mother’s day.
