King of the RiverCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

I would have to agree that the king of the river, has to be this beautiful bird, with colourful plumage strong wings and beak, and absolutely amazing vision is known as the King Fisher. It is a joy to watch these birds of prey in action. I love the blue and mauve shades in this card topper that make the King Fisher stand out so well. I used CB 200gsm matte white card to print the sheet provided. I used all the elements provided and tiny D.S padded dots to make up the central pyramid style decoupage. I used light weight D.S padded tape to mount the topper onto a black textured card which measures, 10.25 x 10cm. I attached a royal blue narrow satin ribbon across the front of the next silver backing sheet, which is pearl finished and measures 11.25 x 11cm. I used the same light weight padded D.S. tape to attach the topper and black backing sheet to the front of the silver backing sheet. I then used regular D.S. tape to attach this topper to the front of the next backing sheet which measures12.25 x 12cm and is from a previous purchase, cup827619_79993, Botanical leaf in Blue, a background sheet designed by Clare walker. I then used black peel off strips on the outside edges of the black and the silver backing sheets. The main card is deep sky blue and opens easel style, and is cut at 27 x 13cm, and then scored and folded. The completed topper is attached to the front, using D.S. tape. I made the simple onestep bow and attached it with power tape. I was keen to use the idea of the motifs, which are visible around the centre circle, that are in crochet, so I made several daisy shaped crochet motifs to attach, and finally decided to use one completed motif and one photo copied motif on the front of the card and the rest of the motifs at the back of the main image, and some of the smaller ones on the front of the main image as part of the insert. I then mounted this onto some of the Botanical leaf print, cut at 26.5 x 12.5cm. I am really pleased with the results, and would like to thank Gail very much for offering this design for me to be able to purchase, and send her a hug.
