Rudbeckias PyramidCompleted by Pamela Horton The whispering Platypus

Rudbeckiaspyr, is a rectangle pyramid shaped image with the smaller elements forming the pyramid decoupage in glorious autumn tones of green, yellow and orange fading into the grey, white background.

I use a prepared 15cm bronzed toned satin finished card front to attach the finished topper using padded D.S. tape.

To make the topper, I used my bronze metallic pencil to define the edges of the 14x12.5cm black backing sheet, before I attached the 2 apricot satin and 1 gold satin, 26cm lengths of each, horizontally across, the top apricot ribbon being 4cm down from the top edge and the bottom apricot ribbon being3.5cm up from the bottom edge, the gold ribbon I then attached an equal distant from each of the apricot ribbons and secured the tails at the back.

I cut the next bold 13x11.5cm orange backing sheet and defined the edges as before using the same metallic pencil and used D.S. tape to attach this to the black backing sheet.

I made one copy of the sheet provided onto good quality light card.

The main image measures, 12cm x10.5cm and the smallest element measures approx. 2.5 x 0.80cm. I attached the main image to a heavier 180gsm bright yellow card and attached this to the card front using D.S. tape.

To complete the decoupage, I cut out each of the elements using very tiny scissors, making sure to angle the scissors away slightly from the edge to avoid a white cutting edge to show, when the decoupage pyramid is completed.

I used my glue tape roller to attach each of these to the bold yellow card then cut each one out being careful to hold the scissors in the same manner and then attached each one in turn from largest to smallest.

Using this heavier card removed the need to used padded D.S. tape which would have been quite visible to the observer.

I used a black and an orange backing sheet to attach the peel off sentiment. I have added 2 tiny matching peel off flowers and the bow tied from the same apricot ribbon.

To complete the insert I have used a plain orange backing sheet to stay within the theme I have created.

Onto the left hand insert I have attached the yellow version of the Lace card background 2, cup1026014_1827, a design by Carol Young.

To this I have attached a small version of the completed topper.

I have used 2 copies of the same Lace Band 2 to cut and paste to fit as a wider image to attach the verse, I have written onto yellow paper and then attach onto the right hand side of the insert.

I am very pleased with the completed project, thank you to Carol Young for offering this sheet for purchase.

The above directions are a given only as a guide if you wish to make the card quickly and easily without having to work out what dimensions will give the same result.
